Here are a select amount of my own patterns I have created and then coloured using reference to Orla Kiely’s work. I have kept the colours neutral and classic. I have done this because if they were to be put on furniture these are classic choices for patterns. Also the colours refer back to the colours I found within the cathedral.

I found the colours within the patterns of the kneeling cushions and stained glass windows. The blues and vibrant yellows are drawn from the windows where as the pale pinks and neutral greys are from the cushions.

I have chosen to use influences from the cathedral because it is one of the main attractions from Norwich city.

I will be printing these on to different papers to create different colour effects due to the different textures that will be sampled. Also I will be laser printing these on to a chosen fabric. Something that is durable and long wearing that will be true to the colours I have chosen here. I will be doing this because when sending samples out to manufacturers the fabrics and patterns will have to be near to the real product I would wish to produce.
